The fall DST follies begin again. (For anyone that wants to see the previous versions of this page, the Internet Archive should have it.) The DST change is scheduled for 6 November.
Each plot shows the values for DS_status (1 means in daylight savings time), DS_day_of_month, and DS_hour for the previous day and current (at time plot was made) day.
Two stations ignored daylight savings time completely while low power station K31GL is ending it very early. (the 27th)

Several stations started sending the wrong information at 1AM with more joining the club later. A couple sent incorrect day information although KDTN changed it to the 6th after an hour. KXAS has a history of starting out with a bogus day which at least prevents receiver time errors today.

KXAS changed ds_day_of_month from 30 to the correct value on 24 Oct.

So far there are enough stations not transmitting bad data so that my DVR hasn't shifted its time by an hour.
Nothing changed Friday but a few stations began the switch Saturday.

Starting a day or more late doesn't cause any problems. They do need to do it at least in time for their electronic program guide information to be accurate. No station in the area provides more than three days of guide data.

KXTX finally changed the data from the 30th to the 6th yesterday. Kind of late but at least they didn't let the 30th get too close.

KTVT finally noticed that DST was coming. Their EPG was also down for a few days and it returned at about the same time.

This leaves two stations that haven't begun the process: KDAF(32) and KDTX(45).
Every station that had DS_day_of_month set performed the transition (DS_status and DS_day_of_month to zero) between 2AM and 4AM this morning (CDT). Thus ends the daylight savings time follies for now.
The two stations that never bothered to set DS_day_of_month quietly changed DS_status from in DST to out (1 to 0) in the last 24 hours. So they know about DST but just can't be bothered to deal with handling it as the standard requires.
